This small, cozy pub is wallpapered in notes that guests pinned up. Each table has pencils and paper so customers can write whatever they want and pin in to the wall to leave their mark in this amazing city. Seriously – I put a note up two years ago, and my friend told me he saw it this week.

Here’s the note I pinned up with my four closets friends in Budapest- and it’s still there! “Shot’s…it’s not optional.” was our group motto, which is super embarrassing but I stand by it.
One of the best part of Budapest is the ruin pubs. Someone had a genius idea that instead of desecrating the ruins of old buildings, the remnants could be remodelled into dope and totally unique clubs. While in Budapest I visited every club that I could, and the experience was unlike any I’d had before. These are my two favorites.
Szimpla is full of these crazy antiques (like a run down antique car and old broken pay phone) that you can play with. Also, all the different rooms and areas are just crazy.
These spaces are great photo ops and perfect backdrops for getting as wrecked as the pub is.
Above the dance floor, there’s this cool balcony, full of little nooks and crannies if you want some privacy.
And there’s hookah.
Instant is another great ruin pub with a cool dance floor and just ridiculous little oddities everywhere.
This bar is just gorgeous with such a phenomenal view. You have to climb up just a tall, twisting staircase to get to the bar (which is entirely confined to the rooftop). Highly recommend the sparkling pink rosé drink.

Budapest is my absolute favorite city. It’s honestly like some sort of made-up fairy tale world because it’s just so incredibly beautiful and so much fun (and super cheap!) The bars and pubs are all unique and the drinks and dirt cheap. Also, there’s Pálinka.
